My baby might have a fungus! He was just fridged for 2 hours. His water perimeters are: pH: 7.2, Ammonia: .2, Nitrite: 0, Nitrate: 40 I think it might be a fungus but I don't see anything on him. Before I fridged him, his gills were almost white. His frills are gone. His normal tank setting is 70 degrees Fereignhiet. I just did a water change yesterday for 30% of his tank.

You don't need to fridge for fungus, just salt or tea baths do the job. I can't see any fungus in the photo but if you see a white fluffy substance on the skin then it is. What temperature is the tank?
The ammonia is possibly causing the gills to shrink. Tub the axolotl with 100% daily water changes. In the tank do water changes to bring ammonia down to 0.
