* Hello all,
A week ago, I moved my year and a half old axolotl (Toothless) to the fridge because his gill filaments were disappearing and he went off food. We went grocery shopping this Saturday and in stocking the fridge air flow in the fridge became obstructed/changed and his water temp dropped to 36 degrees. Today I noticed he was not moving and his mouth is open. I checked his temp and realized it was too cold. I moved him to a warmer shelf 40-41 degrees. His body is stiff and his limbs are limp. I did a water change and am watching for defecation or movement (mouth). Is there any other way to check to see if he is alive? How cold is to cold? What is the best way to warm him if he is just “asleep”?
Thank you,
Amy.
