Hello,

I post here for a friend of mine who has a problem on a young adult CB N. Kaiseri.

It has a kind of swelling on the back about the size of a pea.

- It has appeared suddenly and within a week (that is to say it wasn't there a week before).
- The size of this bump hasn't changed since it has apeared about 10 days ago.
- There is no trace of any wound, the skin is perfectly normal on this area
- The animal remains normally active and feeds well for the moment, it stays in the water

Here are some pictures I took for him, we would really appreciate if anyone had any idea to help cause we both do not know what to think of it...

Sorry, I cannot see the photos. Starting suddenly, it sounds like a blister of some kind. Probably best not to wait and see, unless you can get veterinary care.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
