Axolotl has guts (I think) visible on one side suddenly

So a few days ago I came across a thread of someone who said that feeding their baby axolotls boiled egg yolks and it helped them grow faster and gain weight better. I thought maybe I could do that so I gave my young Lucy here some. I don't know if this is normal but on one side it looks fine and nothing else I haven't seen before is visible, the other side however looks like his guts are in knots and I'm not sure if he's having a problem passing it (which he should be able to). His habits haven't changed but he looks kinda bloated or it's inflamed, etc. It was probably dumb of me to let him try it but we learn better about our animals by experimenting. So uh, yeah, what's going on here? Should I fridge him for a few hours just to be safe?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
