Hi Everyone,

So I've been feeding my Axolotl Grub Pie (https://www.geckodiet.uk/repashy-superfoods/40-repashy-grub-pie.html) since I got him when he was a juvie (he's now 3 years). Occasionally I'll treat hi to a bit of prawn etc., but I've never fed him live food!

He seems very happy and healthy so I'm not really that concerned, but is there any danger in this? Thought I should ask!

Thanks in advance

It is 75% soldier fly larvae. Many of the other ingredients are not needed for carnivore diets. I'd guess the main ingredient is fine but most of the other ingredients are not needed and probably won't be digested.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
