Just wondering if anyone would know why my golden albino has small brown spots down her back there is also some fungus on her back. What is the best way to treat fungus? I have put some melafix in the tank for now this is all the damn aquarium and pet stores sell.
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

I live in the UK and we can get something called Protozin. This is good for removing fungus. Mine only required 1 dose, not the full weeks course, to get rid.

Best of luck

Yeah, I have used that on my goldfish it is really good, the pet store said not to use it on axolotls. She is looking a little better today the fungus has gone down by about 1/2 but she still has the brown spots does anyone know what they could be?

I'm wondering too... I bought a female leucistic last friday and she has since developed small "coffee brown" coloured spots on her head and along her sides.

Sounds like the ones, I have noticed mine looks like some small chunks of skin are missing around some of the spots too, it looks white and like there is missing skin, it's hard to explain.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
