Snapped a couple of Autumn looking pics in the pyrrho tank earlier, they are just getting their breeding colours, I thought they looked nice against the dark Oak leaves. They don't make the best hiding places though. I think the game's nearly up for Mrs pyrrho!
Has anyone else got any seasonal pics? :)

Beautiful photos and newts Ben! I always love seeing your pyrrhos. I've got a few seasonal photos, but i'm waiting til later in the year when i'll put all my best photos of this year into a thread.

EDIT: Just realized two of the "seasonal photos" are on my profile picture and avatar, LOL

There, fixed it for you. ;) :)

HAHA! Took me 5 minutes to realize that you had changed the quote. I couldn't figure out what you were on about

Alright then. Here you go, some seasonal pictures. And since you've already seen two of them, i'll add in some different angles.
I should also probably take more, been waiting for a while to take pictures with fall colored leaves but I've only done it with 3 species!

I don't have anything nice referring to autumn in the tank, but the smaller male is full of energy and chases ladies...I tried to capture him in a pic waving his tail but I'm too slow :)

I think you'r pyrrhos are the same strain as mine, they are eerily similar!
Are you're pics are sized too small, I can't get them to blow up from your post?

Yeah, I see that now :/ I have to try again with better time to see what happened - they were sent from my phone to e-mail since the connection by phone to caudata is too slow to attach pictures...but it's true our newts share the same looks! Where did you get your original group, do you have location?

My original trio were wild caught imports, I was told they came from Kyushu, but that's not specific enough to say for sure what race they are. They do look like sasayama and the males do the thing with their back leg when mating so that's the way I'd bet, but I'll never be 100% certain I guess.

Testing, testing...let's see how they look now when I copied them directly to computer (annoyingly they are poor colour quality when I watch them on the screen).
