I just bought some eggs yesterday. Hopefully some will hatch.

I would like to go away for 24 hours in 2 weeks. Would I be likely to come home to a disaster? What you need to to set things at that point?

Just leave them a bunch of blackworms to eat. Cut them up appropriate sized and don't leave too many (i.e. more than they'll eat during that time), to foul the tank.

If you feed them right before you go and when you come back, 24 hours is not too long!! I've had to work a shift that long a couple times in my career!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
