Does anyone know off hand how much, on average a [40 gallon Breeder 36" x 18" x 16"] usually sells for in the USA? I'm looking for one and a stand (or some plans to build one if i have more time than $$).
Thanks.

Petco does have this sale. You can usually call into your local store and find out when the sale is (I think i should be soon!). The only problem is that lots of people are looking for this sale and they usually sell out of the 40 gal breeders pretty quickly. The only reason I got one was because I had a friend that works there hold one in the back for me. Good luck!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
