My wife spotted this red eft strolling through the wet grass behind our cabin in Pennsylvania.

Very nice photos and a beautiful little newt. Thanks for sharing. What time of day was the newt spotted? I didn't think they would be that active during the day.

In the Northeast Red Efts are often found in the middle of the day, especially after a light rain. I guess being bright orange with red dots, they don't worry much about predators.
