Compost soil in pond

Guy who made my pond and waterfall, used organic compost for inside the pond and the slope leading to the pond. Sure it's great for plants, but won't this pose health risks for the newts? Thanks.

If there are no added chemicals, it's not anything different than a newt might encounter in the wild, right?

:happy:Thank you for your words of reassurance, Otterwoman. I know newts are sometimes found here in the canals alongside farms with runoff from cowdung heaps, but I somehow thought it wasn't ideal.
