I don't think she's dreadful! She's been fun so far. She made the defense posture when I offered her food, which was cool to watch, and she let me handle her when I was cleaning her cage. Then again, I have Tokays, so maybe my perception of dreadful is skewed?

She's not dreadful, just bullfrogs in general. They're invasive, diseased, etc. Good thing they're delicious!

Tokays, however, are truly evil.

Okay, THAT I'll agree with. This one was captive bred by a responsible breeder, so I don't feel bad about it. :) And only SOME Tokays are evil... I'm trying to breed mine currently.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
