I'm in the midst of cycling my tank for some P. Waltl. But this morning while I was testing, I found these tiny white mushrooms growing on my cork bark above the water line. While I like the way they look, I want to be sure they're not dangerous to my future inhabitants. The only information I've found on these specifically is on this webpage and then a few sporadic posts on here about fungus in general.

If anyone could ID these and tell me if they're dangerous, it would be amazingly helpful.

I can't ID them for you sadly. However, I would say that when in doubt, take it out. It would be a real shame if anything were to happen to them when it is such an easy solution.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
