I just got a new little tiger salamander yesterday! And I mean little. I’ve never seen a tiger salamander so small! He came into the store with a shipment of small waterdogs, and they told me he morphed after a few days! They didn’t have him in an terrestrial set up, but he is more than happy to venture around the land in his new home. I assume this is the small morph of tiger salamander. I have yet to decide on a name, any ideas?

Just as a reference for how small this little dude is, here he is next to Salaman. Mind you, he already has a lot of color!

I'm assuming you don't house them together right? I got nervous just looking at the little one so close to the big one's mouth. I know my tiger would try to snap anything that size up in a heartbeat!

My salamander is even smaller than yours. How much more has yours grown since August?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
