An article about T. shanjing

Hi Aitor. While the article gives some good advice, it also has some flaws that shouldn´t be in a publication. I don´t think any publication with the intention of serving as a guide for the care of any species of caudate should make any reference to mixing species, or using raw meat as the food of choice for tame, non-shy animals. It´s just my opinion, but some of the information given doesn´t sound very professional to me.

I don´t know:confused:, but this article is from European herp magazine Reptilia. Anyway, you are all right about mixing species.
Another question: Could you put some photos of your tanks? I am preparing a terrarium for 5 T. shanjing and an aquaterrarium for two or more Triturus dobrogicus.
Thank you very much and have a happy New Year;).

Mmmm...i would expect better from Reptilia...anyway the article is interesting despite the couple of discussable informations. Thanx for posting it.
As for the tanks, check this out:

There are plenty of nice ideas there.
Feliz año ;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
