2 juvenile and 1 adult male??

Yesterday, I just brought 2 new Pachytriton labiatus , juvenile Pachytriton labiatus , even during at the pet shop, I can see that they are biting each other and some of them have bite marks at their tail. These are juvenile Pachytriton labiatus , below are the picture from the pet shop..Now I wondering, can I put them with my adult Pachytriton labiatus because these guys are only about 3 inches and my adult male was about 7 inches. Can I put them with the adult male Which I have with plenty of hiding places?? Do you think that he will make harm too them because my male Pachytriton labiatus not really furious one even my axolotls are more ferocious then him, what did you guys think???? :rolleyes:

I would not put the smaller ones with the adult.
 
yea do not put them together. I would first off tell the owner of the pet store that they are crazy to have that many in a tank, even if they are in there to sell.
 
in here they always sell them that way, my 1st Paddletail have bite marks all over him at the tail, now his heal, and now i have these young juvenil, maybe i should put saperator on my 3 feet tank.. :D
 
A while ago I used seperators for my paddle tails. Just make sure they cant see one another otherwise they can become stressed out. Even though they sell them like that it is totally wrong and dangerous to the animals health to be in there like that. Does they guy really need to order that many? I doubt Paddle tail newts are that popular.
 
Not that the conditions will be all that different at the wholesaler.....

Definitely go for opaque dividers. If possible have a separate filter for each section and completely seal of the sections so they can't smell each other.

i agree with you guys, this is at pet shop at my town, largest in my region, nway, here anything that wierd always have good money on it... :eek:
 
yeah, there are lot of them, i just wondering how they are sell in your place, nway there are 2 type of paddletail here which been stated in the caudata culture and i see they are also agresive toward each other... :eek:
 
Those are all Pachytriton granulosus. They're closely related to P.brevipes, not P.labiatus. Like the other three species, they're quite territorial, but they are the smallest and most slender of the four species. Color is more or less useful to identify them, but this species is usually brown with broken red stripes.

are you saing that this are adult paddletail?? because the shape, the stripe are the same as my adult paddletail... :happy:

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
