Floating Axolotl

Hello everyone.

I am a new axie owner and have had my little guy, Lotl, for a few weeks now. He's been doing great but recently started floating slightly to his side. He swims and is able to get to the bottom of his tank if he wants to and is eating well. I've been cleaning his tank every two to three days. I spoke with the person I purchased him from and they say he may have an air bubble. I was advised to move him to a smaller container with less water to see if it helps him. I'm really nervous and would really appreciate some feedback from people who have had this issue before. Thank you.
 
How big is it ? Floating can often be a sign of too high a temp or poor water quality

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
