Albino Batrochoseps attenuatus

I found this little guy a few years ago and just now found the photo of it... I have never seen one so lightly colored and it had pinkish eyes, which is why I assume that it was an albino and not just a very lightly colored hatchling.

That could have been a project. You should go search the area again, sometimes you can repeat the success. There's a road near Julian that has produced several albino E.e.klauberi.

yes this was quite a few years ago in my parent's urban backyard... I plan on hunting extensively during the wet season.
The house is over a hundred years old and has a few very large cedar trees on the property... Also, the old cellar has a constant flow of water through it all year round. I'm positive that a large population of Aneides lugubris uses the cellar for estivation. I have found individuals upwards of 7 and 8 inches in old stumps. One nite I opened my back door to find a large individual at face level on the door jam, he was apparently attracted to the insects buzzing around the porch lite.

I'm pretty sure that the populations of salamanders I find there have been isolated for decades making the gene pool very shallow... I'm not sure if any of the neighboring yards would even be suitable habitat becaus eof the amount of developement and landscaping that has taken place in the last 100 years...
