I'm setting up my axolotl a new, bigger tank and I was wondering if the pressboard stand that came with the tank is okay. It was made by the same company that made the tank and was made for the tank but pressboard tends to disintegrate if it gets wet. Do they coat it with anything to protect it? I was also wondering if the "Glass poppy pipe outlet" linked below is a worthwhile investment for the tank if I'm using the ehime pro 4+ 250.. Thanks!

If the outlet can receive the flow from the filter that should be fine, however, I would buy another tank stand. I think it is better not to risk it collasping.

IMHO, press board is OK although not the best. I have a press board stand that i have been using on my 50g for 10+ years. If replacing is an option, go for it!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
