Tylototriton pseudoverrucosus was found only a few years ago. They are similar with Tylototriton taliangensis in morphology. They have very long tail.By now only two breeding pool was found. Their distribution is very narrow and close to the location of Tylototriton taliangensis(straight-line distance:57km). I'm curious how this species is formed. And I belive there is a great probability of hybridization between them.I'll have a try.

IMG_3874, IMG_3883, IMG_3921 are Tylototriton pseudoverrucosus.

They're beautiful! Are they quite an aquatic species? It looks like they should be with their smooth skin.

Yes. In breeding season male wait female in water. Water depth is about 45
~60cm. I guess they mate in water.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
