...my tortoises get there freedom back!
It can be a bind feeding and heating them over the winter (leopard torts don't hibernate) but its worth it to have such impressive animals wandering freely about in the garden.
Does anyone else have any summer tortoise pics?

I don't have any photo's, but my parents had a few tortoise while I lived at home.
I remember one who went by the name of Black Jack. He was a terror during the summer months. He would bash into me and bite my heals, the female tortoises were chased and the rabbits and dog kept well away from his rampaging He was not a slow beastie.
I'll see if they have some photo's :)

My brother keeps his red eared sliders outdoors during the summer, I will try and acquire pics. Love your massive tortoise! Nice to see!

OK, this is the off-topic section so I couldn't resist . . . This is my little guy at the Oakland Zoo, they have some great tortoise and frog sculptures for kids to climb and pose with.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
