Im going be doing a walk-thru on my DIY water chiller for under 100 bucks

Beautiful axie! I'm genuinely curious what you're using for a chiller. I'll need one before long.

I'll be posting up my DIY chiller soon, just need to find time to get post together and showing process.

My tank stays at 64.4-65F while the room temp is at 71-72F

I spent about 200$ on a chiller and it was a good investment.... I live in Arizona and the sun faces my window so a chiller was absolutely essential and it works very well even when it gets to about 80 degrees F in my room.

For people people that cannot afford a 300$ chiller, either make one or put your tank in the basement! :)

I dont remember what the breeder had him listed as...

He looks like a wild type, now that I'm seeing his sides more. He's got a lot of grey on him; i like this little crest patch. Very handsome :)

He's a melanoid. I don't see any shimmer in his eye. He's adorable!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
