My axolotls from Margie have doubled in size in two weeks! Here are some before and afters :) My spotted leucsitic now has spots on her tail, along her caudal ridge and all over her head.

The befores are posted first, "afters" second. Can't wait to see them in a month!

Too cute! What are you feeding them they've grown so much!

Mine went from 1.5" and 2" to 4" and 4.5" in a month. They still look so small compared to your lotls considering it's only been two weeks! :(

Live black worms constantly and some frozen bloodworms as well, plus water changes every 4 days :) Well it was 2.5 weeks when I took the photos, its been 3 now. I also weighed them when I first got them, at the one month mark I'll weigh them again.

I feed mine frozen bloodworms, and cut up earthworms, change water every few days. They're just so slow growing :(

Man, all these positive Margie reviews. She must really rock!

I got my speckled Leucy from her last week. It is a beautiful specimen! She certainly knows how to raise them. :)

When I get time I need to make a testimonial thread for her. 5 stars! :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
