Hello again! I need to know how to condition tap water for african clawed frogs. What kind of products do I need, and how much do I put in the water? Can I put them in the water immediately after conditioning, or does it have to sit?

Thanks in advance for reading and answering my questions!

I read on a website that you use 1 teaspoon of "Amquel" and "NovAqua" per 10 gallons. Is this accurate? Does it need to sit before putting the frogs in?

Ok, I went to petsmart and bought Amquel plus and Novaqua plus. I put 1/4 teaspoon in 2.5 gallons, and 10 drops per 1 gallon. Tell me if this is ok please. ;3

I am still learning with my frogs too so I am no expert, but I had some issues recently with high ammonia levels due to new tank syndrome after upgrading my frogs and fish to a larger aquarium. During that time I was doing 50% emergency water changes daily and was adding the dechlorinator to the water partway through the exchange. I did not have any complications with my frogs at all! I do think if you are able to let the water sit for 24 hours or so it would probably be better and safer for your frogs. Hope this helps you out a little!

Water conditioning with frogs should be the same as with any others. Use the amount of dechlorinator it says to on the bottle, and the longer you let it sit, the better.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
