I was at my local pet store, and i saw elctric green tetras by glo fish. I really like them theyare so bright i think they'll add more life to my aquarium. They are supposly peaceful,so i'm asking you guys the experts if i could keep them with my chinese FBN.

Don't put fish in with your newts. Newts naturally avoid water bodies with fish so being forced to live with them is stressful for them. You can keep some red cherry shrimps, they are ok.

I have to agree with the previous post. I used to have a guppy or two with my Newts and the guppies kept to themselves, but some of the newts would go on spells where they would not go in the water. I couldn't figure it out, but as soon as the fish were gone my newts were 10 times happier. They ate better, stayed in the water more, were more active and even reproduced.

Not to mention that the toxicity of most salamanders and newts means that any animal housed with them is susceptible to being poisoned by those toxic secretions. Mixing species is never recommended unless it is purposefully for feeding and there are no possibilities of infection or parasite introduction.

They are not a Tetra. They are Danio choprai. Stupid comman names.

No they have actual gfp white skirt tetras i have one and its awesome. I keep it with a school of black and white skirts

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
