Captive Breeding of Tylototriton in the U.K

I have about twenty breeders.
That's good news, congratulations !

Anyways, for a long-term population management, it would be safe to act so that all breeders have the same odds to let descendants (but perhaps you already plan it).

Danube crested newts can be somewhat agressive and some individuals could dominate the others.

They are now almost a year old I have 4 left from 6 I kept for myself

I have asked two guys in the UK who have adults ,but they aren’t interested as far as I can tell .
I do however have incomplete arrangements to pick up a small group of CB juveniles in Europe later this year , I can but hope to have some success in the future from them

I hope that will work out for you.Good luck with that Aaron.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
