Hi everyone,
We have 3 axies in a large tank two girls and a boy. The girls look fine the boy I think gets a bit hassled to spawn by them and his frills have taken a beating lately. we had more eggs a week ago. We are fairly new to axies ( may 2012) and have these three and 31 juveniles growing in seperate containers in the bathroom, and another lot of eggs removed into thier own tank. I have 2 tanks left, one is a no go as gravel and goldfish the other is a smaller tank about 60cm x 20x 20 would it be big enough for him or am I worried about nothing?? I will try to post a photo of him. He is eating but not nearly as much as the girls and is more docile in general.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
