Hey guys, so I want to say thank you in advance. Just wanting to know if you think my axolotls might all be males? The mel is 10mo and both leucys are 9mo. I know it can be a long time before they drop but they look like balls to me but I’m new to axolotls still so idk. The gfp leucy looked like he shot out sperm when I was taking him out the tub to do a water change the other day.

Great photos! The middle one looks like it may be male, the bulge under the tail is quite prominent. The last leucy has a fairly rounded belly so may be female. The melanoid I am not too sure about.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
