Wild mudpuppies/ water dogs

It's not a mudpuppy. A mudpuppy is a completely different animal not found in your neck of the woods. As for its age, it's hard to tell. What length was it and what time of the year did you catch it?

Common names are annoying. :D

Anyway, she was 2 inches when we cought her in August. Also, which type of tiger is she? The photo I posted was in the photo gallery.

Looks like a barred but not 100%. If you PM me with the NM county I can look it up for you but I ask that you don't post the location on the site (we try to protect areas from collecting) .

Thank you for keeping the location secret. I appreciate it.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
