Hi,

So living in Australia and the average temp in summer being close to 40 degrees Celsius, frozen water bottles and ice packs just don’t do the trick anymore - I need a chiller!!

Does anyone know good brands (preferably Australian and cheap) of aquarium chillers?

What would I need for a 20 gallon tank (about 80L or less I can’t remeber) that doesn’t upset flow and such - I can’t find any and I have no idea what I’m looking for!! I’d like to sort this as soon as possible... please help!!

I would be also interested in learning something about chillers from our other Aussie axolotl keepers!

My tank has not completed cycling yet but I would like to have a temperature control in, prior to purchasing my Axolotl.

I'm in the U.S. so I'm not sure how much this will help but I ordered one off Amazon. You will probably need a water pump as well.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
