Just wanna make sure this is fungus? I've started salt baths. 1 liter of water and 3 teaspoons of aquarium salt for 14 minutes, covering the container to limit stress. Recently had an animal pass and was on vacation and the person watching them left the food in there to rot and I think that caused it. Along with going through a mini cycle at the moment :( but I'm using prime.

Yes, that is fungus. But it sounds like you are on top of things. :)

Yeah, looks like it. When my axies developed a fungus, I ended up moving them to the basement because mine was caused by high temps. You are doing great, keep it up and it will be gone in about a week or two. :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
