Hello everyone :)
I have a pet axolotl and am looking for another one :D

I spent the day searching around but none of the stores had axolotls that I wanted. They were all melanoides, goldens and wildtypes, but I want an albino. It has to be fairly large too as my current axie is a mature two and a half years. Are there any breeders or pet stores that sell them in melbourne victoria that you know of?
Ones preferable open tomorow or even the later week.

*AUSTRLIA, VICTORIA-MELBOURNE*

Thankyou :)

Have you tried Coburg Aquarium? They are fairly large and may have what you are looking for- however, when I went there about a year ago, they had heaps of axolotls, but most were small and not very well looked after- one had only one leg left! but I did manage to score an albino there- she is now doing well and is growing back her gills well :).

Not a problem- let me know how you go there, I will be interested to see if they are any better at caring for their axolols.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
