I have some epoxie sculpt just sitting around and was wondering if I could use that in my aquarium? I am want to make a decently sized food bowl for my soon-to-be axies.

tldr: Is 2 part epoxie sculpt aquarium safe?

That depends. There are different types of this brand and I'm not too familiar with it. A picture of the exact product would help. As far as I know, when it comes to using adhesive products, you want to stay away from anything that is mold resistant.

if you can find the ingredient list that might help determine if its tank safe, a lot of epoxies are but it really depends on what its made for.

If you can't find any information whether the epoxy is food safe or aquarium safe, I would not take the chance of putting it in the aquarium and having toxic chemicals leaching into the water and harming or killing your axolotls.

As far as I know the only safe adhesives for aquariums are a few 100% silicone.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
