IAD 2004 : Neurergus captive care

For IAD 2004 I will try to bring an interesting lecture on captive care and husbandry of Neurergus species. this will mainly focus hard on N. strauchi strauchii and on Neurergus crocatus.

Henk, that's great news for the salamander people thinking about going to IAD! Maybe after the talk, I can persuade you to write down some of the information for a caresheet for N. strauchii

I'm trying to find a way to get there, but logistics are still a problem. (Mainly the logistics of escaping home and family responsibilities!)

Hai Ed & Jennifer : I have an article ready on captive care in N. crocatus, but I wanna wait until after IAD to publish it, otherwise I don't have anything new to say...

I am currently scanning some shots on Rhyacotriton for an article on them

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
