Shedding time!

Salaman spend most of her time above ground so I thought it was odd that she dug down! Later I realized that it was because she was shedding! She then proceeded to eat the shed skin, which at first I thought was dirt. She actually dug a window which I thought was cool, to be able to see into her den.

Aww she is adorable! I love the little window she made! That's so interesting, I didn't realize that tiger salamanders shed!

Yep! At least I think they do? Toothless shed when he was underwater, but I haven’t seen him really shed on land. It’s also possible that Salaman was just eating dirt
