Hi everyone! <3

I'm new as a member/poster to the forums but I've been browsing here as a nonmember for the past 2 years or so! I'm from New Zealand, and I own 5 axolotls ; two leucistics called Shio (male) and Haru (female), a wildtype (speckled brown) girl called Koji, a melanoid (black) girl called Pekoe and a golden albino boy called Kowhai.

I'm 18 and I have only owned my axies for about 2 years so I wouldnt say I'm a fountain of knowledge but I'm always happy to help out anyone with anything axolotl related and I'm most definitely always willing and wanting to learn more!!!

Anyway here's just a simple intro, I'm super keen to meet other axolotl and amphibian lovers on here! :p

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
