Hi there!
Names Leanna,

I'm super excited to have recently purchased 2 Axolotls (one Albino, one Wild).
I have named them Loki (Wild) and Mushu (Albino) because - why not :p

My Axolotls are still Juveniles, Approx 3 inches in length with all 4 legs (I'm not sure how old that makes them... perhaps 3-5 months at the most?)

Currently running a 30 gallon tank with a sponge filter and a regular aquatic filter with some creative ways of reducing water flow, plus an air stone that is situated fairly high in the water (cause i know they dislike water movement) and a couple of hiding spots and plants for them to explore :)

I'm looking forward to getting some more info on axolotls! I'm still new to these little ones!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
