yea my precious lil man who swallowed lots of small stones isnt looking so happy :( his tail is all curled nd he is a bit under the weather looking any suggestions on what i cood do to maybe try nd stop him dying from an impacted digestive system :( he rele isnt looking too good he isnt jumping around the tank like normal he is eating his worms tho so i reks thats a good sign :) any advice would be great thanx hannie x

The best treatment for impaction is to put it in the fridge.

Find a bowl with a lid, fill it full of dechlorinated water, and pop it with your axolotl in the fridge. Keep a jug of fresh dechlorinated water in there as well for water changes. Hopefully it will pass the stones.

Hi hanniebee.

I agree with Kaysie, this may be stating the obvious but have you removed the stones?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
