Just wanted to say Hello, just joined. My wife and I have bred snakes and lizards for years and have a very extensive Tropical fish collection as well. I made the mistake while at a reptile show we vend at to get some Pleurodeles waltl from M. Strom in PA and now we're hooked, so we're working on putting together our own collection as well as looking for quanities of C.B Newts and Salamanders for resale this time of year when all our snakes are getting ready to sleep for awhile :)
Thanks again and we're glad we found this wonderful site.

You will certainly be hooked when you start your salamander search. I favor Fire salamanders and Tigers. Good Luck and welcome.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
