Hey, so i have a 2 year old leucistic axolotl and i'm worried he is too small, when i bought him from the breeder she said he was the runt, and right now he is only a little over 2 inches. I feed him earthworms in cut up pieces, every other day. i'm a little worried.

2 YEARS old at 2 inches?? Can you post some pictures please

So sorry! I meant 4 inches, not 2 inches!! so sorry! i got him four months ago and the previous owner/breeder said he was close to 2 years, and that he was the runt and would get blocked from the food by the others.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
