I currently have a 160L tank with a 1 year old axolotl in, and I'd love to give her a friend or two!
I'm planning on getting another female axolotl in the same tank, but I was wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to have 3 female axies in one 160L tank.

Any opinions, please? Thank you!

I dont think there is a precise formula on this subject, but usually the rule is 40/50 L per axolotl.

I usually prefer to give them more room than what the rules say, so they wont ever be unconfortable...
In my opinion your aquarium supports 3 axies just fine! Just be sure to add 03 "calm spots" for them to rest alone... far from any water flow or bright light.
They will be just fine!

3 should be okay in the tank, just have lots of hide options and make sure they are all well fed. Maybe start with one extra one before getting a third so it is easier on your filter and you can decide if two is enough. Make sure to find one the same size as your current axie to avoid accidents :)

Thank you both very much for your replies!
I'm glad to know 3 axies would be okay in my tank! I think I will definitely wait until they're similar in size before I move them in, so there's no danger. Also I'll make sure I only move one in at a time. My dirty lucy Dobby hasn't seen another axolotl since she was 8 weeks or so old!
Yay for more axies! :D
