I always check the 'recent posts' part to see the new posts (that's what it's for :p).
If there is a new post in a topic with multiple pages, it alway goes to page 1 when you click that. Wouldn't it be handy to make it go to the last page of that thread?
I just caught myself responding to a post in page 1 while the topic had multiple pages. Obviously that question has been answered already in a different page.

Does it happen to other people often or is it just me?

This only happens to me if I haven't read all of the posts on the previous page. The recent post button takes you to the last post you have read on that thread and if that happens to be on a previous page then thats where it will take you. Man I hope that makes since.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
