The calendar competition thread, namely this post, gave me the idea for this:

picture.php

Now that I've done it, it seems a little lame though.

I think it looks great, although the right leg makes it look slightly like an E. Then again it might just be me. Good idea.:p

Salamanders have been known to lose their legs "accidentally" :p.

I find the basic idea good - would consider balancing it with another as the g in .org. You have the layout of "The Newt and Salamander Portal" to consider, though.

With the stylized (oh I read once what it actually is...?) green and orange salamander currently in the logo, you would have a higher "brand identification" of the logo - and the logo is easier to reproduce on pockets and keychains.

Two cents, please.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
