Does anyone know if you can play with your axolotl? My axolotl has been stressed due to moving, so does anyone know how I can make her happy? that would be great! :D

Hi. Moving your axolotl from one place to another must be quite stressful for her ( and you) You need to make sure that since the move that all her water parameters are good. Feed her as usual and just let her settle. What is she doing that tells you she is stressed?

Axolotls don't play. Attempts to do so would increase their stress level rather than reduce it.
In fact, they shouldn't even be handled, except when absolutely necessary.
My advice is keep it cool and fed, keep an eye on water quality, and leave it alone otherwise.

My axolotl follows me around the room and gets excited when I am near the tank. That's our play lol
I've heard some enjoy pushing around marimo moss balls or even the bubbles on a sponge filter

I found that she was not moving and not eating, She always does that when I move her so I just hated to see her stressed. Thank you for the info!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
