As you gaze upon the spiritual yin-yang symbolism, be sure to chant the Salamantra
(which is, "I have room for one more tank. I have room for one more tank").

I don't want to chant that Dawn. I just exercised a large amount of self discipline in order to turn down a group of Paramesotriton chinensis!

I too am avoiding "one more tank". I just sold my 55 gal AND big canister filter to a friend (and talked her into putting axolotls into it!), so I don't put more animals into it. Right now, I have 1 empty 20 long, which I'm going to put my musk turtles into, leaving me with an empty 15 gal as a hospital tank. I have bad ETS (empty tank syndrome), so if I don't have empty tanks, I'm not tempted to fill them.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
