Finally got these babies! leucistics!! i'm pretty excited atm... i heard i can change the water in their tank everyday if not using a filter.. will that cause problems??? oh.. for all canadians who are looking for them.. there's a pet shop in toronto that actually sells them!!

You are correct, changing the water everyday will cause problems and prevent the tank from cycling. As long as you are diligent about cleaning the tank as it becomes dirty you would only need to do about a 10% water change once a week, even on the few tanks I have with filters I still do this.

where did you get you axolotl*?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
