Yep, Luna is sitting in her poo spot with a floaty bum.... is there anything i should do do help get the poop out quicker, she doesn't look too impressed

Feed as normal and it should sort itself out :) Floaty Bum Syndrome is an everyday part of some axolotls' lives. My Galaxy floats all the time, my Toothless doesn't.

It's not a worrying thing as long as she's not constantly floating or can't reach the bottom. You know your axolotl best, so if she's not displaying unusual behaviours, keeping her food regular will help.

Hi, I was told to feed the axolotl waxworms that it would be easily digested. Hope it will sort itself out

Waxworms, earthworms, maggots - any soft wormy-type food will do. Keep off dried food (pellets), anything with an exoskeleton (mealworms, live shrimp), and fish.

it's ok, i woke up to the the grand-mother of all poops this morning.... yep it was nasty

:famous:

thanx anyway

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
