No, Bop isn't constipated or anything but I was thinking about that the other day. Are there any feeder fish that are good laxatives for axies to prevent constipation? I've heard Minnows are a good "once in a while" option?

With my other tanks I usually give my fish pea's or part of a cucumber to help prevent bloat, and watching a betta swim around with part of a pea sticking out of his mouth is just too funny.

When my vet was trouble shooting one of my sick sals he thought she might be constipated and recommended wax worms dipped in olive oil. You could dip a piece of nightcrawler in oil as well or whatever you normally feed.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
