Hi guys really glad to be a member...very new to tiger Salamanders but I have three American bullfrogs I raised from tadpoles and I have kept aquatic turtles for over thirty years I take the care of my animals very seriously and I spare no expense in their set ups and supplies nor do I spare any time that I consider idle and not needed for either my family or my animal family which includes three dogs two ,three cats ,.two ferrets ,a rat ,twenty turtles of various species ,three frogs ,MANY fish ,a few crayfish and a snail or two !! .All receive the absolute best I can give them and now add a juvenile tiger Salamander to that list...I look forward to learning from those of you who’ve been around the world of tigers for awhile!!! Thanks!!!

I have ferrets too! Here’s a question I get asked all the time: how do they get along with the salamanders? As if they all run in about the house together! Do you get that also?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
