I've used this style (an older discontinued model) for tree frogs and it worked great for that. If you want live plants, you have to use those that grow in those desktop siamese fishbowls.This means a lot of light is needed and green algae builds up quickly. You have to tear it down frequently. I could not get ground cover to grow. Other than fire belly toads, I did not keep any terrestrial amphibians in it. I like that little video they have... The fish they show in the tank will be toast as soon as those sliders get an inch or so on them. They will outgrow the tank eventually as well as its filtering capabilities. Always showcase by species and don't experiment with mixing predators as these products often seem to encourage. This setup is extremely heavy when running.
